Thousands of years ago there was a race of beings known as the Dark Elves that tried to bring upon darkness across the universe by using the weapon that is known as the Aether. Asgardian warriars were able to stop them, but Malekith, the leader of the Dark Elves, escaped and waited for another opportunity. The warriers find the Aether, and due to not being able to be destroyed, they attempt to hide it. In the present time, Jane Foster is waiting for Thor to return to Earth, even though it has been 2 years since they last met. In the meantime, Thor has been trying to bring peace to the nine realms. Jane discovers an anomaly which is extremely similar to the one that brought Thor to Earth. She decides to go and investigate, but stumbles upon a wormhole which she gets sucked into. On Asgard, Thor wishes to return to Earth but his father, Odin, refuses to let him. Thor learns from Heimdall, who is able to see everything throughout all the realms, that Jane had disappeared. Thor then returns to Earth just as Jane reappears. What happens next? watch to find out
