Who could be the next Big Marvel Villain?

Hey guys, today I am going over some ideas of who could be the next big baddie of the MCU.

While the MCU is growing at an exceptional rate after the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The fans and studio bosses are looking towards the future of the franchise. Avengers: Endgame has left a pretty large hole for whoever could take the Mad Titan's, Thanos, place.

Every good series needs an overarching villain, like Emperor Palpatine to Hannibal Lecter. So the MCU stands on the edge of some serious changes and a brand new set of heroes and villains for the upcoming Phase 4, below I have 5 potential, maybe not correct but just my opinion, villains that could be the big bad guy for the franchise.

The first on the list is Adam Warlock, also known as magus, who was teased in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, hopefully he hatches from his cocoon for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Adam Warlock has the potential to become more than just a simple member of the cosmic crusaders, that's if he chooses to embrace his villainous side.

Although Adam didn't show during Avengers: Endgame, like many fans thought he would, the teaser showed that he is definitely out there somewhere. In the comics Adam Warlock's history shows that he was largely known as a hero of the Marvel Universe, his connection to the Soul Stone shows his future transform into the great evil Magus.

not if but when Adam Warlock makes his great debut in the MCU, Kevin Feige and others would be smart enough to set him up as an extremely major ally that could be along side someone like Captain Marvel, but then to fall from grace and eventually become Magus. Everybody knows that the franchise loves a tragic villain in this day and age, this means that Adam Warlock/Magus would settle in to the franchise really nicely.

The 2nd contestant that I believe could not just be a big bad guy but have a massive come back would be one of the earliest MCU villains we had seen is the crimson-faced Red Skull. After disappearing from the franchise, at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, as he was Steve Roger's arch-nemesis had made a surprise return during Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

After these events, the Russo Brothers have officially confirmed that the Red Skull is now free from his imprisonment on Vormir, leaving a MASSIVE question as to where the Red Skull is going next. As it looks like Chris Evans is on his way out of playing Captain America, in the mean time anyways, Red Skull could come out of Captain America's shadow and take on the rest of the Avengers.

The next big bad villain that could show up is the Red Hulk. While Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk isn't technically connected to the MCU but is at the same time, Thaddeus E 'Thunderbolt' Ross, played by William Hurt, was the only one to survice the casting cull. Even though Ross has had sporadic appearances ever since, his history in the comics teases not only a Hulk standalone film, but a full branch of Marvel movies.

For anyone that doesn't known, Ross had his own team that were known as the Thunderbolts and had also adopted a villain persona known as the Red Hulk.

Mark Ruffalo is still a fan favourite in the MCU playing the current Hulk, and in the mean time it doesn't look like he is leaving any time soon with the new look he has as Professor Hulk. The three phases of the MCU has shown that the Hulk is a dangerous member of the Avengers, even though they have dialed him down as a more heart warming character that could have something building deep inside, so why not have the heroes face against an antithesis of the green Giant?

The next option has came from the fact that fans are being extremely patient waiting for the arrival of the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. The superhero team led by Reed Richards could definitely bring Galactus into the picture. The MCU is moving towards a more cosmic set of movies, which means that Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds could possibly be really big trouble for our planet.

The gas giant that had previously appeared in the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, but, as a favourite rumour of Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, Galactus is a prime candidate for the MCU's next arrival.

And the FINAL villain I believe that could make a grand entrance to the MCU is the super genius, keeping in line with previous genius villain's, Doctor Doom. He could be one of the ways to bring back the Fantasic Four and make them better than ever before. This all-powerfull villain has crossed paths with many heroes in the comics from Black Panther to Spider-Man, which makes Doctor Doom a whole lot more than just an enemy of the Fantastic Four.

Bare in mind that Victor Von Doom, Doctor Doom, has a some what anti-hero status after claiming the honour of being the third Iron Man, as he had previously joined the Avengers in the comics.

I personally believe that the MCU could bring one of these amazing villain's into the franchise with a whole new look and reinvent them to enhance the superhero experience we all want to see. I wan't to see Doctor Doom and Galactus mainly but all 5 of these villain's can bring the MCU to a whole new level.

The MCU franchise may be over a decade old but this is only the beginning.

If you have any theories on who you believe could be a great villain that is upcoming then feel free to comment or if there is any other Marvel theories you would love to see then let me know.

Stay super and open minded for many more theories to come everyone!
